President of Iceland Visits UNU Programme

On Wednesday March 4, 2008, the President of Iceland, His Excellency Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, was on an official visit to the National Energy Authority, where he addressed the importance of renewable energy resources in the global battle on climate change.
After the public speach and discussions His Excellency visited with the UNU MSc Fellows at the United Nations University Geothermal Training Programme, where Fellows from each country gave brief updates on geothermal development in their home countries. Final remarks were given on what the individual Fellows would take with them from Iceland in addition to their geothermal education.
