UNU MERIT participates in launching of the Open World Forum

A new event will be launched by the joint efforts of the leading communities and organizations worldwide. The Open World Forum, FLOSS, Innovation and Competitiveness is scheduled to take place in Paris on 1-2 December 2008. The Forum will bring together international experts and IT stakeholders to cross-fertilize initiatives in Free Libre and Open Source Software. The Forum will invite 160 speakers from 20 countries and define the first ever roadmap over the next decade: the 2020 FLOSS Roadmap.
The Open World Forum will discover the latest trends and technologies in FLOSS, from high-level business strategies to profound technical insights and share insights and best practices with some of the most respected FLOSS experts and entrepreneurs worldwide. The Open World Forum will launch a network with thousand of experts, IT managers, architects, developers, academics and investors from all the continents. According to market analysts, by 2012 it could grow to represent 30% of the software and IT services market.
Google, IMP, Siemens, Linux Foundation, Mozilla Foundation, Paris VII University, UNU MERIT and other organizations participate in the forum.
